"Everyone sits in the prison of his own ideas.
A human being is a part of the whole called by us "Universe," a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest- a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.
This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."
Albert Einstein
Reality tunnel (aka belief system, world view, world model, reference frame, intentionality etc) is a term coined by Timothy Leary and popularised by Robert Anton Wilson. It refers to the concept that with a subconscious set of filters formed from their beliefs and experiences, everyone interprets this same world differently, hence "Truth is in the eye of the beholder". This is not necessarily meant to imply that there is no objective truth; just that our access to it is mediated through our senses, experience, conditioning, prior beliefs, and other non-objective factors. The individual world each person occupies is said to be their reality tunnel. The term can also apply to groups of people united by beliefs: we can speak of the fundamentalist Christian reality tunnel, the scientific materialist reality tunnel, the libertarian reality tunnel, etc
The concept of reality tunnels fits in nicely with the scientific concept of confirmation bias by which we tend to notice and assign significance to observations that confirm our prior beliefs, while filtering out or rationalizing away observations that do not fit with what we believe. This helps to explain why reality tunnels are usually transparent to their inhabitants. While it seems most people take their beliefs to correspond to the "one true objective reality," Robert Anton Wilson emphasizes that each person's reality tunnel is their own artistic creation, whether they realize it or not.
Through various techniques one can break down old reality tunnels and impose new reality tunnels by removing old filters and replacing them with new ones, new perspectives on reality - at will. This is achieved through various processess of deprogramming using meditation, controlled use of hallucinogens, neuro-linguistic programming, cybernetics, hypnosis, bio-feedback devices, and forcibly acting out other Reality Tunnels. Thus, it is believed one's Reality Tunnel can be widened to take full advantage of human potential and experience reality on more positive levels! Robert Anton Wilson's Prometheus Rising is (among other things) a guidebook to the exploration of various reality tunnels, breaking through the current one and opening our minds to a whole new world.
The most ideal Reality Tunnel would be the most open one. 'Question Everything; Exlore Everything; Believe Nothing 'is the main philosophy, so instead of travelling between Reality Tunnels you create one that encompasses everything. Beliefs are considered dogma, they filter out much of reality. Catmas are relative metabeliefs, or flexible temporary opinions of which many, even contradictory, can be held in one's consciousness. This way we have a larger map of reality and thus a wider perspective. We could achieve a lot more progress if we could evolve beyond belief systems, which are defended emotionally, not rationally. Wether religious, ideological and political, as this study of political bias shows. When you are able to open your mind to many differing and conflicting views, there will be much less or no confirmation bias on your part as you are able to make many new connections. Consider ideas, ideologies, viewpoints, etc as toys like I do. You know you can't play with one toy all the time or it gets boring, so you switch toys often. Believe nothing, it is the highest form of intelligence! (and absolutely necessary in conspiracy research or conscious evolution.)

The ultimate truth....
......is that there is no ultimate truth.
Your Ego is a fallacy and your Belief System is your enemy. And the other way around.
"Intelligence is the capacity to receive, decode and transmit information efficiently.
Stupidity is blockage of this process at any point. Bigotry, ideologies etc. block the ability
to receive; robotic reality-tunnels block the ability to decode or integrate new signals;
censorship blocks transmission."
Robert Anton Wilson
"Whenever people are certain they understand our peculiar situation here on this planet,
it is because they have accepted a religious Faith or a secular Ideology
(Ideologies are the modern form of Faiths) and just stopped thinking."
Robert Anton Wilson
"We can all see how other people's BS (belief system) makes them blind and "stupid" at times, but we find it very hard to notice how our own BS is doing the same to us. This is what anthropologists call 'acculturalization.' Following Gurdjieff, I prefer to call it hypnosis... Every politician knows how to induce hypnosis, and very damned few people on the whole planet know how to de-hypnotize themselves. The world is not governed by facts or logic. It is governed by BS (belief systems)."
Robert Anton Wilson
1. Never believe totally in anybody else's BS.
2. Never believe totally in your own BS.

"If all people learned to think in the non-aristotelian manner of quantum mechanics, the world would change so radically that most of what we call 'stupidity' and even a great deal of what we consider 'insanity' might disappear, and the 'intractable' problems of war, poverty and injustice would suddenly seem a great deal closer to solution."

John C. Lilly
"An optimistic mindset finds dozens of possible solutions for every problem that the pessimist regards as incurable."
Robert Anton Wilson
"Anybody who gives you a belief system is your enemy, because the belief system becomes the barrier for your eyes: you cannot see the truth. The very desire to find the truth disappears. But if all your belief systems are taken away from you, in the beginning certainly, it is bitter. I know the fear, the anxiety, that will surface immediately which you have been suppressing for millenia. But it is there, very alive, no God can destroy it. Only the search for truth and the experience of truth, NOT a belief is capable to heal all your wounds. To make you a whole being, and the whole person is the holy person to me."
Osho
"The universe is change, life is opinion."
Marcus Aurelius
"I don't believe anything I write or say. I regard belief as a form of brain damage, the death of intelligence,
the fracture of creativity, the atrophy of imagination. I have opinions but no Belief System (B.S.)."
Robert Anton Wilson
"People have murdered each other, in massive wars and guerilla actions, for many centuries, and still murder each other in the present,
over Ideologies and Religions which, stated as propositions, appear neither true nor false to modern logicians - meaningless propositions
that look meaningful to the linguistically naive."
Robert Anton Wilson
"All around one the True Believers trudge by, mouths grim, brows furrowed, ulcers and worse eating at their innards. This desperate company of oddfellows (Thoreau) live in what psychologists call 'cognitive dissonance.' Because their reality-maps are, one and all, too small to cover the vast, eerie, amusing world in which we live, they are perpetually frustrated: the world does not live up to their fixed beliefs. They are all convinced that there is something radically wrong with the universe itself, or with the rest of humanity, and they never suspect that the real trouble is in their own rigid and robotic nervous systems."
Robert Anton Wilson
"Only the madman is absolutely sure."

"In religion and politics, people's beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second hand, and without examination."

"Ideology makes it unnecessary for people to confront individual issues on their individual merits. One simply turns to the ideological vending machine, and out comes the prepared formulae. When these beliefs are fused with apocalyptic fervor, ideas become weapons, and with dreadful results."
Daniel Bell
"Any reality... is an opinion. You create your own reality... WOW!"
Timothy Leary
"We are still general purpose computers who can program any conceivable model of the universe inside our own structure, reduce the single self-metaprogrammer to a micro size, and program him to travel through his own model as if real."

"Think about this. The people exposing the illuminati agenda are either christians, jews, other religious zealots, ex-CIA sex slaves, New Age technological spiritists, scientists and the like. I have yet to read information from any source exposing the agenda that points a finger directly at the real culprit in all this The luciferian mindset. They don't point a finger because they dont realize the direct involvement by this entity in manipulating this whole agenda. If they did realize this, and did their research into the deep dark mysteries of Babylon, they would soon realize theyd be pointing a finger at themselves and would have to give up their lunatic belief systems."
Bryan Kemila (though confirmation bias could have led Bryan to his conclusions as well)
